Who teaches the nutrition classes?

The nutrition part of The Vegan Nutrition Diploma is taught by Rohini Bajekal. Rohini is a nutritionist (MA Oxon, MSc Nutrition and Food Sciences, Dip IBLM) and a Board-Certified Lifestyle Medicine Professional. Rohini is a Board Member and Head of Communications at Plant-Based Health Professionals UK - an organisation that educates health professionals, members of the public and policy makers on the benefits of whole food plant-based nutrition in preventing and treating chronic disease.

What are the other parts of the course, apart from nutrition?

This course is designed to firstly teach you about vegan nutrition and then teach you how to apply that knowledge to creating recipes, meals, menus and meal plans. This makes our course unique as we teach both the concepts and the application. Within the latter part of the course you will learn the practicalities of applying nutrition knowledge from Chef Day. You can find out more about Chef Day here.

How is the course assessed?

For each section of course there is a maximum of 60 points available, so 180 for the whole course. 135 points (75%) are needed for a student to gain their certification. But, if there are any problems along the way with any of your assignments your teacher will be on hand to help. So if any work does not meet the standard required we will advise you and you can resubmit your work. The marking schemes are in the ‘resources’ section of the course materials.

How do I enroll in the course?

You can book onto any of the courses by simply selecting the course you want and purchasing it HERE. We are unable to reserve a place without payment. Once we receive your payment we will send you access instructions which will enable you to start your course straight away.

What qualification will I receive?

You will receive a Vegan Nutrition Diploma. This is a certificate of completion, it is not a graded certificate i.e. merit, distinction. This course is designed for people who are either food-creators (chefs, recipe developers, caterers) and homecooks. In the UK there are no minimum qualifications a person needs to call themselves a Nutritionist. However, nutritionists that have completed a degree (3 years full time) can join a register which will demonstrate to a potential client that the nutritionist is of a certain standard. Although it is legal to give nutrition advice and call yourself a nutritionist in the UK the ethics of it are highly questionable and something we emphatically discourage. You could use this course as a way to see if you want to study nutrition at degree level.

How long is the course?

The course is designed to be completed in 35 hours. You can work through the course at your own pace as long as you complete it within 12 months. It is completely flexible and convenient so that you can easily fit it into your schedule. Often students need to pause the course due to something unpredictable happening in their life. We completely understand this and have experienced it with many students since we started the school in 2018. If you need an extension because of extenuating circumstances we are happy to give you that. Our main objective is to help you to finish your course and will always support you in any way we can.
