Prep time - 5 minutes

Cook time - 10-20 minutes

Difficulty - Easy

Serves / makes - 2 portions

Ingredients

280g firm tofu, drained and with the water squeezed out of it

3T tamari or soya sauce

1T toasted sesame oil

Equipment

Tupperware box

Baking tray

Method

  1. Set your oven to 200c/390f/GM6.

  2. Cut the tofu into bite size pieces.

  3. Put the tofu into a tupperware box with the tamari and oil.

  4. Put the lid on and seal it. Turn the box over a few times so the tofu is covered with the marinade.

  5. Put the tofu onto a large baking tray. Bake for 10-20 minutes depending on how chewy you want it to be. The longer you bake it for the chewier it will get.

Notes

  • Tofu can vary in texture depending on which brand you use. In the live recipe Chef Day used Tofoo which is available in most UK supermarkets. This is a solid tofu that doesn’t have much water inside it. If you have a softer tofu you may need to bake it for longer to get a meaty chewy texture.
